The United Nations Special Envoy to Haiti, former US president Bill Clinton says he’s pleased with the number of investors who have showed an interest in Haiti.

At least 200 representatives from the US, Latin America and other foreign businesses gathered for an investor conference in Port-au Prince yesterday.

Mr Clinton has been campaigning for international assistance for the impoverished country since taking up the UN post earlier this year.

The former US leader told the gathering that his mission is focused on developing a number of sectors, including the country’s garment, agriculture and energy industries.
