Barbados makes top 40 best place to live

Barbados is said to be the only Caribbean country in the top forty on the list of the United Nation’s annual Human Development Index.



Barbados is 37 on the list of 182 countries while Jamaica ranked 100.



At number one is Norway, which according to the UN agency, enjoys the world\'s highest quality of life.



The UN index has placed Niger at the lowest level.



The report highlights the wide disparities in well-being between rich and poor countries.



It also takes into account life expectancy, literacy, school enrolment and per capita gross domestic product in 182 countries.



Norway was followed by Australia, Iceland and Canada on the list.



The United States was listed 13th on the index, down from one spot over last year.
