Small island nations are today renewing calls for massive funding to fight climate change.
Speaking at the United Nations climate talks now on in Bangkok the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) emphasized that the likelihood of more intense storms and rising sea levels threaten their survival.
The association says it now faces an emergency as rising global temperatures risk wiping out coastal areas and endangering access to food and clean water.
Chair of the alliance group of 42 countries, Dessima Williams is urging the international community to take on a firm and reliable set of commitments to protect and help develop small island nations.
