T&T start Champions League against Somerset
Trinidad and Tobago skipper Daren Ganga will lead his side into their first Champions League 20/20 assignment today against English county team Somerset at the Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium in India.
Somerset got off to a good start when they stunned reigning Indian Premier League Champions and Group ‘A’ favourites Deccan Chargers by one wicket in a last-ball victory on Saturday.
Ganga is unperturbed by that result and insists there will be no change to his team’s plans to face Somerset.
He says his team’s depth in batting will be the key to the outcome.
Meanwhile, Delhi Daredevils easily beat Wayamba by 50 runs in their Group ‘D’ match yesterday.
Batting first, the Daredevils scored 170-5 off their allotted 20 overs and restricted the Sri Lankan club side to 120-7.
Man of the Match Virender Sehwag set the tone by blasting 66 off 42 balls, while Dinesh Kathik supported with 61 off 41 balls.
