Dominica\'s Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, is defending an agreement he signed with the French government to lift visa restrictions on Dominicans traveling to the neighbouring French islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique.
France imposed visas on Dominicans traveling to its territory in the 1970s in an effort to control the migration of thousands of Dominicans to the French overseas departments in the region.
Mr Skerrit says glitches in the process are not an indication that the agreement isn’t working.
