Guyana is making conflict of interest claims about alleged links between Trinidad Cement Limited (TCL) and the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ).
The CCJ is hearing a matter involving the Trinidad-based cement company and the Guyana government.
The case was brought by TCL against Georgetown for removing the CARICOM Common External Tariff on cement produced outside the region.
President Bharrat Jagdeo said he has conflict of interest concerns about that matter because the Chief Executive Officer of the cement company, Dr Rollin Bertrand, is the Chairman of the Trust Fund for the Caribbean Court of Justice.
Mr Jagdeo said some of his colleagues share the same concerns.
