St. Kitts PM weighing options

St. Kitts Prime Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas, is now seeking legal advice following a court ruling yesterday against his government\'s plans to change constituency boundaries.

In making the ruling Justice Errol Thomas condemned recent parliamentary action taken by the governing Labour Party administration, in its bid to realign constituencies in St Kitts and Nevis.

The judge upheld the argument put forward by lawyers for the opposition party, that the laying of the Constituency Boundaries Commission report and the issuing of a proclamation to act on the report were unconstitutional.

One of the government’s legal representatives, Anthony Astaphan, said the administration is considering its options, and could appeal the decision.
