The Guyana police force says it’s launching an inquiry into alleged murders which surfaced during the recent court hearings in the United States of confessed Guyanese drug dealer Roger Khan.

Court documents from Mr. Khan\'s case claim that he was the leader of a gang that was involved in the deaths of over 200 people in Guyana between 2002 and 2007.

The authorities in Georgetown have called for individuals or groups who have information about the alleged murders to come forward.

But Opposition Leader Robert Corbin says he’s not hopeful because the police have had information in the past, which they did not act on.
