A knee injury has ruled Fidel Edwards out of the West Indies Cricket Board President’s Cup, starting later this month in Guyana.

Chairman of selectors Courtney Browne and head coach Vasbert Drakes confirmed that the West Indies fast bowler would not play.

Edwards reported an injury to his left knee after returning home last weekend from India, where he took part in the Champions League 20/20 for Deccan Chargers.

Uncapped all–rounder Khalid Springer has replaced Edwards in the 14-member squad for the regional competition.

Barbados will contest Zone-B of the President’s Cup with Guyana, Leeward Islands, and the Young West Indies.

Zone ‘A’ includes Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and Combined Campuses and Colleges.
