T&T lost Champions League final

Trinidad and Tobago’s sensational run in the inaugural Champions League Twenty20 ended today when New South Wales flog them by 21 runs in the final at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in India.



The Australian champions compiled 159 for nine off 20 overs after being sent to bat and then ripped out T&T for 118 in 15.5 overs, ending the Caribbean Twenty20 champions’ incredible five-game winning streak at the US$6 million tournament.



New South Wales collected a whopping winning prize of US$2.5 million and T&T earned US$1.3 million as runners-up.



Pacer Ravi Rampaul was the most standout bowler for T&T with 3-20 off four overs and medium pacer Dwayne Bravo picked up 2-27 off three overs.



Bret Lee was the top batsman for New South Wales with 48 off 31 balls, while Steve Smith lashed 33 off 26 balls.



Kieron Pollard 26, Daren Ganga 19, Denesh Ramdin 16 and Adrian Barath 14 scored most runs for T&T.



Bowling for New South Wales, Stuart Clark ended with 3-21, Brett Lee 2-10 and Nathan Hauritz 2-23 and Steve Smith 2-32.
