Liverpool ended their worst sequence of results since 1987 and eased the pressure on manager Rafael Benitez by beating defending champions Manchester United 2-0 at Anfield yesterday in the English Premier League.
Liverpool got their goals from Fernando Torres in the 65th minute, and David Ngog in injury time.
Following the victory, Liverpool move to 5th place on 18 points, while Manchester United are 2 nd on 22 points.
Over at Upton Park, West Ham battled from a 2-0 half-time deficit to earn a 2-2 draw with Arsenal.
Manchester City also blew a 2 goal lead and had to settle for a 2-2 draw in an action packed clash at Fulham.
In another game Bolton survived a come back from Everton to seal their first home league win in a 2-3 victory at the Reebok Stadium.
