West Indies beat South Africa again
West Indies defeated hosts South Africa by 13 runs at Newlands today to take an unbeatable 2-0 lead in their 3 match 20/20 Women’s International series.
The Caribbean side batted first and posted 114 for 9 off their allotted 20 overs, and then dismissed South Africa for 101 with 4 deliveries remaining.
Anisa Mohammad was the pick of the West Indies bowlers with a 5 wicket haul. She ended with brilliant figures of 5-10 off 4 overs.
Shermaine Campbelle chipped in with 2-23.
Shandre Fritz 42 and Trisha Chetty 31 scored the most runs for South Africa.
Cordel Jack scored the most runs for West Indies with 41 off 52 deliveries. Stefanie Taylor 14, Deandre Dottin 12 and Stacy-Ann King were the only others to get into double figures.
Bowling for South Africa, Ashlyn Kilowan finished with 2-16 and Alicia Smith 2-23.
The third and final match takes place at Paarl on Wednesday.
