October is now considered the deadliest month for American forces in the eight-year war in Afghanistan after eight US soldiers were killed in bomb attacks in southern Afghanistan earlier today.
Yesterday 11 soldiers were among 14 Americans killed in multiple air crashes.
According to the Pentagon, 55 US soldiers have died in October in total.
Like many deaths in Afghanistan, today’s killing is being blamed on the improvised explosive devices that pose the biggest threat to foreign forces operating in the country.
