President’s Cup bowls off
The West Indies Cricket Board President’s Cup limited-overs competition bowls off tomorrow in Guyana, with defending champions Trinidad and Tobago and regional four-day title-holders Jamaica facing off in the feature match.
The game will take place at Providence.
The Jamaica squad, led by Chris Gayle, has 11 West Indies players. They include Dave Bernard Junior and Nikita Miller, who were part of the recent makeshift regional team.
In Jerome Taylor and Andrew Richardson, the Jamaicans also have two of the best fast bowlers in the region.
The Trinidadians are on a high following their good performance in the Champions League Twenty/Twenty in India and with nine players with West Indies experience should start as one of the tournament favourites.
In the remaining matches, hosts Guyana and Leeward Islands face off at Enmore, Barbados play the Young West Indies at Bourda Oval and Combined Campuses and Colleges battle Windward Islands at Everest.
