Human Rights lobby group Amnesty International wants US President Barack Obama to follow the lead of the United Nations General Assembly, and take steps to end the US economic embargo against Cuba.
The UN body has condemned US sanctions against the island, with 187 countries voting for an end to the embargo.
Amnesty International said the sanctions are affecting Cubans\' access to medicines and medical technologies.
Amnesty official, Kerrie Howard said the lives of millions are being put at risk because the embargo prevents them from accessing vital medicines.
