New Aruba administration

A new government has been sworn into office in Aruba, just over a month after elections were held in the Dutch Caribbean island.

Nelson Oduber\'s People\'s Electoral Party, which led the country for 8 years, was trounced at the polls by the main opposition Aruban People\'s Party, led by Mike Eman.

However, observers said it won\'t be smooth sailing for the incoming party, because it has inherited public coffers that are over US$55 million in debt.

They said that debt, coupled with the potential demise of one of the island’s main income earners, its oil refinery, is expected to prove very challenging.
