The Jamaica-born forward Jeff Cunningham has won the Budweiser US Major League Soccer Golden Boot Award for the second time in his career, after notching 17 goals in the regular season.

Playing for FC Dallas, Cunninghams career-best 17 strikes gave him the top goal-scorer ahead of Conor Sassey, 16.

He joins Trinidad and Tobago International Stern John, Taylor Twellman, Carlos Ruiz and Roy Lassiter as two-time Golden Boot winners.

Cunningham’s 17-goal total surpassed his previous career-high of 16 goals, which he achieved twice – with Real Salt Lake in 2006 and the Colombus Crew in 2002.
