Australia levels series

Australia defeated hosts India by 24 runs today in the fourth limited-overs international at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium to draw level at 2-2 in the seven-match series.



Set 251 for victory, India were bowled out for 226 off 46.4 overs against the bowling of Doug Bollinger three for 38 and Shane Watson three for 29.



Sachin Tendulkar top-scored for India with 40 from 68 balls, falling short of 17,000 One Day International runs.



Earlier, Cameron White and captain Ricky Ponting posted half-centuries to help Australia to 250 off 49.2 overs.



White top-scored with 62 off 71 deliveries and Ponting scored 59 off 52 balls, his third half-century in four matches.



Shane Watson 49 and Michael Hussey 40 supported with useful scores.



Ashish Nehra was the most successful bowler for India with three for 37, while Harbhajan Singh had two for 48.
