Barbados, T&T face off in first semis

Reigning champions Trinidad and Tobago defeated Barbados by 2 wickets in the first day/night semi-final of the WICB President’s Cup at the National Stadium at Providence in Guyana yesterday.



Set 230 runs to win, T&T, led by an unbeaten 76 from Captain Darren Ganga who reached the target with 4 balls remaining.



Ganga was well supported by Lendl Simmons, who scored 44 and Dwayne Bravo, who got 32.



Kevin Stoute and Nicholai Charles took 2 wickets a piece for Barbados.



Earlier, Dwayne Bravo took a 6 wicket haul as Barbados were bowled out for 229 with 1 ball to spare.



Bravo ended with 6-44, while Ravi Rampaul had 3-50 and Simmons 2-30.



Martin Nurse top scored for Barbados with 46, while Ryan Hinds got 44.



T&T will play the winner of the second day/night semi-final between hosts Guyana and Combined Campuses and College, which will take place today at the National Stadium at Providence.



The final is set for Thursday.
