A 23- year-old Guyanese woman is presumed dead after plunging from the top of the towering Kaieteur Falls on the weekend.
The woman, Aliya Bulkan, was on a guided tour to the remote location when the incident happened.
Gerry Gouveia, the pilot who took the group to the scenic attraction, said the woman is deemed missing.
However, family members have said that they do not expect her to survive.
Gouveia added that teams, including the police, are searching the area and the army is standing by.
There have been conflicting reports as to whether the woman fell or jumped off the 741 ft high waterfall.
