West Indies women beat England women

West Indies Women defeated England Women by four wickets in the opening Twenty/Twenty International of their three-match series at Warner Park in St Kitts today.



England Women, sent in to bat, were restricted to 112 for eight off their allotted 20 overs with Charlotte Edwards making 34.



Stafanie Taylor was the most successful bowler for West Indies with three for 16, while Anisa Mohammed chipped in with two for 24.



Needing 113 to win, West Indies Women ended on 115 for six with two balls to spare. Cordel Jack top scored for West Indies Women with 39, while Pamela Lavine got 26.



Isa Guha took most wickets for England Women with three for 21.



The second match in the series will take place on Wednesday and the third and final on Thursday. Both matches will also be played at Warner Park.
