Bill on Cuba trade for US Congress

Lawmakers in the US House of Representatives are preparing legislation that could expand farm trade with Cuba and ease longstanding travel restrictions.

The US eased part of the embargo in 2000 to allow cash-only sales of farm products and medical supplies through third-country banks.

The American Soybean Association says the bill will eliminate this payment requirement before shipments leave port.

It will also allow US citizens to travel to Cuba.
