Manning Cup Round Up
Portmore-based schools Waterford High and Bridgeport High recorded important victories to improve their chances of qualifying for the semi-finals of the ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup competition.
Waterford High carved out a 1-0 victory over Eltham High in the opening game of a double header at Spanish Town Prison Oval.
Oshane Greeves scored the only goal of the game in the 30th minute as Waterford moved to maximum 6 points from two games in the quarterfinal round.
Jay Lindsay scored a last minute goal to lead Bridgeport High to a 2-1 victory Norman Manley in the second game.
The competition continues this afternoon with a double header at Constant Spring field. The match ups are Kingston College against Tivoli Gardens at 1:00 and Excelsior playing St Andrew Technical at 3:00.
