Former world record holder Asafa Powell has launched a charity foundation, the Asafa Powell Foundation with the theme ‘preparing today’s athletes to be tomorrow’s champions.

The launch took place last night at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel and triple world record holder Usain Bolt made a contribution by providing the newly formed foundation with a cheque.

Attorney-at-law, Delano Franklyn will head the committee, which will guide the affairs of the Asafa Powell Foundation.

Among the aim of the foundation is to contribute to the personal welfare of track and field athletes especially athletes in the 12-25 age group.
