Newly crowned Ben Francis Knockout champions Glenmuir, remain on course for a double title after qualifying for the quarterfinal round of the ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel daCosta Cup competition following yesterday’s final round of inter-zone games.
Glenmuir booked an automatic spot after hammering Bog Walk 6-0 at JAMALCO to top Group 5.
Among the eight qualifiers were reigning champions St James High, who defeated William Knibb 4-1 at Jarrett Park to emerge Group 1 winners on goal difference over Frome Technical.
Frome Technical clipped Mannings 1-0 at Frome to finish with identical 7 points.
Garvey Maceo qualified from Group 6 after defeating Dinthill Technical 4-1 to top the group.
Marcus Garvey Technical won Group 2 when they battled to a goalless draw with Cornwall College at Drax Hall.
The other automatic qualifiers were last year’s beaten finalist Spalding High, who battled to a goalless draw with Clarendon College to win Group 3, and St Elizabeth Technical High School, who beat Manchester High 1-0 to take Group 4 honours.
Manchester High and Frome Technical advanced as best second place finishers.
