Man charged for shooting minister’s car

A 31-year-old man has been charged in Belize for firing shots at a car belonging to Works Minister Anthony Martinez earlier this month.



Kevin Sutherland, the cousin of the minister’s driver has been charged with aggravated assault and damage to property.



The driver told investigators that he was approached by his relative who asked about the whereabouts of the minister.



He said when he told him he did not know, his cousin fired three shots hitting the car twice.



No one was hurt at the time of the incident that happened while Martinez was out of the country.



Sutherland pleaded not guilty to the charges and will return to court on December 28.
