St Kitts boundaries commission members resign
Former Premier and Leader of the Opposition Concerned Citizens Movement, Vance Amory and his colleague, Michael Perkins have tendered their resignations from the Constituency Boundaries Commission.
However, Amory said he is prepared to re-consider his decision to quit the Commission if re-elected in the general election due in another five months.
Last month, the main opposition People’s Action Movement (PAM) claimed victory following the ruling of High Court Judge, Justice Errol Thomas.
In his ruling the judge condemned recent parliamentary maneuvers made by the Denzil Douglas government to change the constituency boundaries in the twin-island federation.
The judge upheld the argument put forward by the opposition party that the laying of the boundaries commission report and the issuing of a proclamation to act on the report were unconstitutional since an injunction was already in place.
