Stanford workers seek government help

Former employees of Allen Stanford are seeking help from the Antiguan government to secure their severance and retirement funds.

The Stanford Severed Employees Committee, which was formed following the disgraced financier\'s arrest earlier this year, say they are owed several million dollars.

Outstanding severance payments alone are said to amount to US$3.7 million.

Antigua\'s Labour Code states that employees are to receive severance packages immediately upon termination of their jobs.

The former workers are appealing to Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer and the labour minister to help them.
