The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said part of the economic woes in the Caribbean is due in part to the reduction in the amount of foreign direct investment that’s flowing into the region.
Many Caribbean governments have said they\'re hoping to attract foreign investment to help ease them out of the current financial crisis.
The Director of Eastern Caribbean Countries Division at the IMF, Alfred Schipke said regional governments should not expect to see a return of the dramatically high levels of foreign investment flows which occurred over the last eight years.
