Young Reggae Girls due home today
Jamaica’s young Reggae Girls are scheduled to arrive in the country in another 15 minutes after qualifying for the CONCACAF Round of the Women’s Under-20 World Cup.
The CONCACAF Round will take place in Guatemala next January.
The Jamaicans qualified after finishing second in the Caribbean Football Union Women’s World Cup qualifiers, which ended in T&T last night.
In their final match of the qualifiers yesterday, Jamaica and T&T battled to a 1-1 draw in their top-of-the-table game at the Marvin Lee Stadium.
Semone Honeghan scored for the Jamaicans in the 67th minutes, while Karissa Rodney netted the equalizer for the home team in the 80th minute.
T&T and Jamaica ended the qualifiers on seven points each.
Cuba secured the third and final spot for the CONCACAF Round following a 6-0 victory over St Kitts and Nevis in the first game yesterday.
