US and Afghan soldiers killed in Afghanistan

At least four US soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan in the past 24 hours.



According to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, three of the Americans died in southern Afghanistan yesterday and the other in the east in a bomb explosion this morning.



Meanwhile, three Afghan soldiers were also killed by a roadside bomb in Helmand province in a separate incident yesterday.



Officials say this year has so far been the deadliest for foreign troops since the US-led invasion overthrew the Taliban.
