McKenley monument to be unveiled tomorrow

The monument to honour the legacy of the great Jamaican sprinter and Olympian, Herb McKenley, will be unveiled at the National Stadium tomorrow.
Prime Minister Bruce Golding will officially unveil the McKenley monument in the presence of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete and his wife, Salma Kikwete.
Sports Minister Olivia Grange, whose ministry led the arrangements for the commissioning of the statue, was at the stadium to observe the installation of the statue following its arrival in the country last Thursday.
International Jamaican sculptor, Basil Watson designed the statue of McKenley.
The 1952 Helsinki Olympics 4 by 400-metre gold medallist McKenley, died at age 85 on November 26, 2007.
