First trial match between Lambert, Bernard 11 evenly poised
The first four-day trial match between Tamar Lambert’s Eleven and David Bernard’s Eleven at Up Park Camp is evenly poised entering today’s third and penultimate day.
Bernard’s Eleven, replying to Lambert’s Eleven’s first innings total of 462, ended yesterday’s second day on 189 for 3 with Brenton Parchment undefeated on 82.
Sean Findlay scored 65.
Earlier, Lambert’s Eleven resuming on 306 for 6 added another 156 runs.
Lambert, who was undefeated on 142 overnight, was eventually dismissed for 168. Andre Russell, batting at number 10, hammered 61, while Horace Miller scored 50, Nikita Miller 49 and Xavier Marshall 30.
Findlay was the most successful bowler for David Bernard’s Eleven with 3 for 51, while Odean Brown had 3 for 81.
Jamaica’s 24-man squad is preparing for the 2010 regional first class season, which bowls off in January.
There will be three four-day trial matches and the squad will be cut to 18 at the end of the final match.
