St. Lucian officials say the country is working on getting off the grey list of nations cited by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development for failing to implement internationally agreed tax standards.

The government has indicated that the island will be cleared within the next few months.

The announcement follows the signing of a tax information exchange agreement between the Netherlands and St. Lucia.

The government said it already has an agreement with the United States that needs to be ratified, and has also initialed one with Canada.

Officials say the island also intends to sign agreements with Belgium and the Nordic countries.
