A court in Venezuela has ordered the arrests of 27 bank executives for alleged links to breaches at seven banks, which have been seized by the government.
The Hugo Chavez government has said that since taking over the banks, irregularities were found at some of the institutions.
Prosecutors in Caracas have also turned to the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), for help in locating nine of the suspects who are thought to have fled the country.
Authorities say six suspects have already been detained.
One of them is the brother of the Science and Technology Minister, who has resigned over the scandal.
