The government in St. Kitts and Nevis have delayed the presentation of the country’s budget.
In an address to the nation Prime Minister Denzil Douglas, announced that the government will be paying a double salary to all public servants, and that it is waiving the existing fuel surcharge on electricity this month.
However, he also informed the nation that the country\'s annual budget had been delayed.
Dr Douglas blamed the delay on ongoing litigation brought by the opposition parties on constituency boundary change matters.
The court proceedings have also made it difficult for the Prime Minister to announce an election date.
Parliament is expected to be dissolved in another week.
