Lester Bird criticizes US senators

Antigua\'s Opposition Leader, Lester Bird has blasted a group of US senators for trying to derail the island\'s attempt to obtain a loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Former Prime Minister Bird\'s Antigua Labour Party is against the Antiguan government seeking assistance from the IMF.
He has, however, accused the US lawmakers of playing domestic politics with a sovereign nation.
The senators have written the IMF asking the multi-lateral agency not to approve funding for Antigua, until the government makes an effort to compensate American citizens who lost millions they invested with then Antigua-based Texan investor Allen Stanford.
Mr. Bird has described the American senators as out of order.
