UN agency urged to assess programmes

The prime minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Baldwin Spencer has called for a United Nations agency to examine if its programmes are reaching those affected by poverty in the Caribbean.
Mr Spencer told participants at a meeting focusing on the social implications of the economic crisis, that they should formulate a roadmap to assess policy options for the upcoming year.
The meeting is organized by the UN Development Programme\'s sub-regional office for Barbados and the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States.
