The Organization of American States (OAS) will be sending an electoral observation mission for the December 18 general elections in Dominica.

The first observers will arrive today to make preparations for the mission.

Steven Griner, the Head of the Electoral Observation Section of the OAS Department for Electoral Cooperation and Observation, has been appointed to serve as the Chief of the 12-member mission.

Mr. Griner will arrive in Dominica on Sunday, and will meet with political leaders, governmental representatives and electoral authorities.

The observers will visit polling centres in each of Dominica’s 21 constituencies and remain in the country until the final results of the election are known.
