Grenada’s Tourism Director suspended
Grenada’s Director of Tourism, William Joseph, has been suspended while an investigation continues into his failure to hold a welcome ceremony for the inaugural flight of Sunwing Airline two weeks ago.
Mr. Joseph and the head of the Tourist Board’s Marketing Unit, Raelene Lazarus, have been harshly criticized for the incident.
At the time of the arrival of the flight, Mr. Joseph along with the Board\'s Public Relations Officer, Edwin Frank, were at the Maurice Bishop International Airport waiting to board the same aircraft for complimentary flights back to Toronto.
This prompted the Board\'s Chairman, Richard Strachan to call for a report into the incident, which is still now under review.
Mr. Strachan said upon completion of the review a report will be submitted to the Tourism Minister, Glynis Roberts.
