Grenadian authorities want the wife of former Prime Minister, Dr Keith Mitchell to surrender her diplomatic passport.

A government statement said not only has Marietha Dian Mitchell failed to give up the document, but she continues to use the passport which identifies her as the Prime Minister’s wife.

Mrs. Mitchell is alleged to have refused to surrender the document when she was requested to do so by an airport immigration officer on November 27.

The Tillman Thomas administration said it is not the norm for the wife of the leader of the opposition to be granted a diplomatic passport.
