Officials in the Bahamas say they need to sign just two more tax information exchange agreements in order to be taken off the grey list of the Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
Nassau has now completed its 10th agreement, after signing pacts with Belgium and France.
The OECD stipulates that countries sign at least 12 tax information exchange agreements to show their commitment to implementing international standards of transparency in tax related matters.
The measure is aimed at tightening up on so-called tax havens.
