A report on the probe into the police torture of a teenager and a man has revealed that a senior officer and two others ignored the illegal activity.

In the report, the Guyana government acknowledged the torture and expressed deep regret for it.

The Ministry of Home Affairs said it supports the recommendations for the three officers involved in the incident to face the courts.

At the same time all charges against the victims are to be dropped.

The two were being questioned at the La Grange Police Station in October in connection with the murder of former Region Three Deputy Chairman, Ramnauth Bisram, when the genitals of the teenager were set on fire.
