Holmwood wins senior title in Digicel Netball League

Rural Area champions Holmwood Technical recorded an extra-time 35-31 victory over Urban Area champions St Hugh’s in the final of the All-Island Digicel Senior Netball League at the Juici Patties Complex in Clarendon Park yesterday.
The scores were locked at 28-28 after full time.
Deneen Taylor led Holmwood to victory with 32 goals from 42 attempts, while Shiquenan Reid had 19 goals from 22 attempts for St. Hugh’s.
Holmwood were denied the double and their fourth title of the season by going down 34-20 to The Queen’s in the Junior Final played at the same venue.
Sade Ffrench, led the way for Queen’s with 19 goals from 21 attempts. Ffrench received solid support from Khadijah Williams, 15 goals from 22 tries.
Nicole Dixon, 17 goals from 18 attempts and Sashana Richards 3 goals from 7 attempts, were the scorers for Holmwood.
