Hinds retained as Barbados captain
Batting all-rounder Ryan Hinds, who led Barbados to a semi-final spot in last month’s President’s Cup, has been retained as captain of a 13-man squad for the start of the 2010 West Indies first-class season.
The Barbados Cricket Association named seven players with West Indies experience in the squad for the first two rounds of the WICB Regional Four-day in Jamaica and St Kitts respectively.
The in-form young batsman Kyle Hope is the only newcomer in the squad, which boasts an attractive bowling attack with frontline Test pacer Kemar Roach and spinner Sulieman Benn.
In addition, the squad also includes West Indies pacers Pedro Collins and Tino Best.
Hinds, opening batsman Dale Richards, and wicket-keeper/batsman Patrick Browne, are the other players with West Indies experience in the squad.
The first round of matches will be played in Jamaica from January 8 to 11 and the second round from January 15 to 18 in St Kitts.
