Jarrett Park to stage exhibition game tomorrow
Jarrett Park in Montego Bay will stage the first of two friendly exhibition games tomorrow evening to honour six of the stalwarts of Jamaica’s 1998 FIFA World Cup campaign.
A select Kingston All Star team and a select Montego Bay All Star side will face off in the first exhibition game, beginning at 7:00.
The exhibition games, which are being staged by Montego Bay businessman George O’Connor of Club Storm fame, will see some of the proceeds going to the select players as well as to charities of their choice.
The second game will be played at the Waterhouse Mini Stadium in Kingston on Wednesday, December 30.
Two western players, former National Captain and goalkeeper, Warren Barrett and defender, Durrent ‘Tatty’ Brown, along with the immediate family of the late midfield dynamo, Stephen ‘Shorty’ Malcolm will benefit from the first game.
Former utility player, Onandi Lowe, striker Walter Boyd and defender, Barrington ‘Cobra’ Gaynor, who is now confined to a wheelchair are the players selected to benefit from the second game in Kingston.
