Cayman Gov’t to provide immigration incentives to foreign firms

The government of the Cayman Islands is promising immigration incentives to the operators of foreign firms in a bid to encourage them to remain in the territory described as the Caribbean hedge fund hub.

Industry experts say the British overseas territory has seen a drop in the number of companies located there during the global credit crisis.

The authorities want to prevent any exodus of companies in the strategic financial industry that accounts for more than half of the national economy.

The incentives on offer include more attractive, flexible immigration regulations in the islands.
