Full body scanning are intrusive, says Privacy group

One privacy advocacy group is hitting out against the implementation of

full-body scanning technology, following the attempt bombing of an American plane by a Nigerian man on Christmas Day.



The controversial technology can find hidden objects that cannot be picked up by metal detectors.



The machines also show the anatomy of passengers.



However, a privacy rights group says such a method will reduce passengers to a strip search.



The group, the American Civil Liberties Union, said subjecting travelers to anatomically revealing technology infringes on the right to privacy.



The Netherland and the US are among the countries that use these machines while others are expected to come on stream.
