Jamaica-born jockey Shaun Bridgmohan registered a pair of wins at Fair Grounds in New Orleands yesterday to climb to the Number Eight spot in the jockeys’ standings.
Bridgmohan, who missed the first four weeks of the Fair Grounds meet while completing his Churchill Downs assignments in Kentucky last November, won the sixth and seventh races on the card.
His winners were the five-year-old gelding HELIOPSIS for the nation’s Number One trainer Steve Asmussen and the four-year-old filly SHUT UP AND DANCE.
He now has 16 wins to be joint eighth in the jockeys’ table, being led by James Graham 32, followed by Corey Lanerie 28 and Shane Sellers 25.
