Mother and sick child killed in St. Vincent fire

A mother and her mentally challenged daughter were killed in an early morning fire at their home in the Lowmans Leeward community in St. Vincent.
The police say the bodies of 94-year old Zetilla Jacobs and her 52-year-old mentally and physically challenged daughter, Ivande, were discovered by fire officials following the blaze this morning.
The Fire Department says it had been alerted about the blaze by police personnel who were patrolling the area.
The police say they’re still carrying out investigations into the cause of the fire.
